World-famous, brilliant, consulting detective Sherlock Holmes, along with his most faithful boon companion, Doctor Watson, are given a case by Queen Victoria herself to solve a mystery that could affect the very future of the British Empire! Kristie Mattsson is born and bred in Los Angeles and is ecstatic to be back in the director’s spot with SHERLOCK HOLMES… after last year’s WILLY WONKA, JR. She previously directed the MWT Mainstage productions of The Drowsy Chaperone, The Wedding Singer, and Mary Poppins, and is back to the Mainstage for The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas.

Kristie works full-time at Windward School as Performing Arts Production Manager. Prior to that: Costume Designer, Santa Monica College, Creative Director for El Segundo Youth Drama, freelance theatrical work: Oregon Cabaret Theatre, New Roads School, Theatre 40, Eugene Opera, Chromolume Theatre, and Beverly Hills High School.

Kristie’s heart bursts with gratitude for her endlessly talented husband, Mikael, who’s always at the ready with accents and weaponry, and her dream team collaborators, Jess and Rachel. Thanks to Eve, Cori, Bill, Evelyn, and to the rest of the YES team for their support, creativity and grace. Lastly, all the gold stars in the sky to her incredibly talented, hard-working cast and crew who made every rehearsal a joy and a reason to smile.
